new little things

Hi Lovelies,

There are some new little things in the shop! Have you seen them yet? I’ve been having so much fun making up these pretties to share, and now they’re finally ready!

These shimmering Pink Glitter Heart Cupcake Toppers will turn any cupcake into gourmet pastries and are perfect for birthdays, baby showers, and weddings!Pink Glitter Heart Cupcake Toppers

Also, I’ve been tweaking some of the features here on the site – and I’m enjoying the changes. I’m not sure about you, but doing deep cleaning and sprucing in our home can be fun for me {not always, but it can be :)}, and here in the shop it’s the same! Little things like lightening the color scheme and adding some new commenting tools {have you noticed?} are each little things in themselves, but put all together they have made a huge difference!

Also, do you remember how I mentioned on the Facebook page that I’ll be giving away a new “little something” when we reach 200 fans? That was only a few days ago, and you have already gotten us with 2 of the giveaway!  Speaking of a giveaway, have you entered for a chance to win the gift card yet? I’ll be posting the winner on Tuesday morning, so you have just a few more days to enter :)

I hope you are having a lovely, relaxing weekend enjoying this tail end of Summer. And I’ll see you here soon!

cleaning shop!

cleaning shop!

My family is coming to visit! {yay!!!} They live in California, so visits are few and far between. My parents are so excited to see the kiddos!

To make room for their stay, I’m doing a bit of cleaning and rearranging – part of which includes tidying up the studio so that my “creative process” is as unhindered as possible while they’re here {meaning I can still run the shop and spend time with them – I hope!}.

confetti shapes grab bag – $1 each

Which brings me to: I’ve listed a bunch of “grab bags” and batches of “not-quite-perfect” items in my Etsy shop. Each of the things listed is one of a kind, and some of them aren’t exactly perfect {but I couldn’t bring myself to toss them out – I just knew some of you would love them!}.

“not-quite-perfect” vintage music paper cupcake toppers – 30 for $3

multi-colored hearts grab bag – $2

Get ’em while they’re here! Chances are that – unlike the other hand made items in my shop – they won’t get re-stocked. Ever. So if you see something you like, snap it up!

this just in … a new garland!

Extra Large Red, White and Blue Star Garland from the Path Less TraveledI’ve just added our newest garland to the shop! {you might have seen a sneak peek of it in my Instagram feed or this post}

Extra Large Red, White and Blue Star Garland from the Path Less TraveledIsn’t it lovely? Each of the stars is almost three times larger than the stars in our smaller patriotic garland, and makes an even bigger visual impact – because sometimes you just need a big”pop” of color!

Also, because today is Flag Day here in the US, and because tomorrow is my birthday, and because I can’t actually invite all of you lovelies to my party {am I even having one? not sure yet … Honey? am i? hint, hint!} I have a coupon for you to use in the shop this weekend :)

You can use the code “happy happy” for 10% off of any order! The code expires at midnight on June 16th {which is also Father’s Day – my, this weekend is packed!}.

Well, hello there! So nice of you to stop by – would you like to subscribe and come again?

Well, hello there! So nice of you to stop by – would you like to subscribe and come again?

Thank you so much for clicking over today. It’s great to have you here! :)

Have I mentioned that one of my amazing sisters is my main web guru? My husband does a lot of the nitty gritty, like adding my creations to the shop, but my sister helps when I have questions like “why don’t my italicized words show up in italics” and “can I redirect my blogger viewers to my new blog?” Answer to the second question: why yes, as a matter of fact, you can. And she made it happen!

subscribe to the Path Less Traveled

Another question: “is there a way for my readers to subscribe to my Path Less Traveled posts via email?” Being the wonderful sister that she is, she made that happen, too.

As of last night there is a fun colored bar at the top of the site that says “Get deals and news from PLTMarket! Sign up”. And if you’d like to be notified when I post, say, about a flash sale or some photos of some darling new thing we’re adding to the shop or an amazing giveaway, that’s the link for you! If you choose to click on it, it will take you to a page where you can fill in your email address and then, ta da! (see, my italics work now – thanks Anna!) The next time I post something, you’ll get an email! Super simple. Super quick. And so, so convenient :)

Today Emily over at Chatting At the Sky is posting about the same thing, and her words express my feelings about blogging a bit better than my own do. I like to get most of my updates via email because it’s convenient for me, and her blog is one that I’ve subscribed to (her sister’s is another … both wonderful in their own way!). If that’s not you, that’s perfectly fine. :) We’re just trying to make this whole blogging thing as easy – and fun – for everyone as we can. Is there a way that you prefer to manage the things you read? I’d love to hear.

Do you blog? If you leave a link in the comments I’d love to click over and “meet” you. :)

All that being said, whatever way you come to visit here, I’m glad that you do. I’m thankful every day for the lovely readers and customers who stop by, for the fans on our facebook page, and all the wonderful instagram followers – you are all such a blessing.

Happy Monday to you all! And as a quick reminder, to day is the last day for placing an order with guaranteed Easter delivery – if there’s something that you’ve been eyeing for your celebration decor but haven’t made the decision yet, now is the time!

Friday again?

Friday again?

How can it be Friday again already?

And Easter is almost here! Having it early this year means that’s it’s kind of catching me off guard {making the girls matching Easter dresses? um, might not happen …}. Are you finding the same thing true for you?

Each pick is made using rabbits cut from 5 different colors of cardstock: pink, yellow, light blue, light green and purple. Each is double sided so there isn't front or back - they look cute from every angle! Each little bunny is about 1/2" tall. The set includes: 3 yellow 3 pink 2 green 2 blue 2 purple

 Easter Rabbit cupcake toppers

Speaking of catching me off guard, I just realized that I haven’t done a very good job of moving most of my Easter items over from my Etsy shop to this site – whoops! So if you’re looking for the super cute things that I’ve been making {and trust me, there are some REALLY cute new things in my shop!} you’ll need to look there this year. Oh well ….

Anyway, here’s some of the cuteness:

and those are only a few! I’m hoping to get them all posted here for you, too, but we’ll see how that goes. :) I’ll let you know!

For those of you who follow me on Instagram, you saw that I mentioned shipping deadlines for Easter delivery: the deadline for guaranteed delivery with standard shipping is Monday, March 25 and Priority shipping is Wednesday, March 28. If you need rush shipping, let me know and I’d be happy to help!

Hope you all have a lovely, lovely weekend {we are expecting snow …} and I’ll be back soon :)

XO

happy weekend! (and a coupon)

happy weekend! (and a coupon)

We’ve come to the end of another week – happy weekend to all you lovelies!

winter woods from the Path Less Traveled

This week we had our what might be our last gorgeous snow of the winter – I loved it. It made me think that maybe I’d enjoy living further north, where sights like this are a bit more common? Of course, I’d also like to live within walking distance of the beach … :)

Anyway … Spring is coming – in fact, tonight we’re already springing ahead with daylight savings! {something I could do without by the way, but no one asked me – seriously, who needs it to stay light until 10pm?! But I digress…}

And St. Patrick’s Day is right around the corner {with Easter close behind it – wow, this year is going fast!}! Did you see that I posted a shipping deadline for it on the facebook page? Yep, if you want something from the shop to add to your celebration, you need to order by March 12. And I have a little goody for you sweet blog friends – you can use the coupon “lucky” for 20% off of anything in the St. Patrick’s Day section of the shop! It’s good until the shipping deadline {March 12} and you can use it as many times as you want {or share with your friends?}!

Heart Handled Gift Bag - its a boy

Also, this week we’ve added some more things to the shop! Baby things in abundance and some super cute New York Subway Map cupcake toppers, and there are even more coming :)

New York City Subway Heart Cupcake Toppers

Don’t forget, Mona from Birds & Honey will be here later this month with a guest post – I’m so excited to see what she brings! I hope you all have a lovely, lovely weekend and am looking forward to seeing you Monday,

XOXO

p.s. what’s the weather like where you are?

cute things coming!

cute things coming!

Ah, Friday again :) And it’s March!

the Path Less Traveled: cute things coming!

There have been lots of cute things happening around here – some of which include a Princess party and Baby Girl turning 3 months old :) – and there are more coming! One of the big things, though, was that we got a new computer {a Mac – we made the move over from a PC last Sunday after ours died}. My husband was even able to rescue most of the photos and info off of the old one, and I’m soooo thankful {I hadn’t backed anything up since last fall – eek!}! Anyway, it’s been a full week. :)

Now that there is a lovely computer up and humming on the desk again, I’m planning to bring you some cute How-Tuesday posts, add a few things to the shop, and even show you a little bit of green that I played with for St. Patrick’s Day {shamrocks, anyone? :)}

One last thing before I sign off – have you heard of Birds & Honey? {if not, you really should click over to her site – so gorgeous!!!} I’m so excited to tell you that she’ll be giving us a guest post later this month!

How has your week been? Can you believe that we’re already welcoming March? That means we only have 3/4 of 2013 left … what?!

update, anyone?

update, anyone?

Anyone besides me notice that there haven’t been any *ahem* blog posts this week?

I have so many excuses … some of them look remarkably like our children {it still amazes me that we have THREE …um, what?!}. Another, quite massive one, is that our computer bit the dust last week. So sad. I’ve been keeping up with the shop on the iPad that John gave me for Christmas {so, so thankful for it right now!}, but it’s been a bit crippling to not have a desktop to work from!

Anyway, I had planned to tell you all about our Valentine’s Day, do a How-Tuesday about some of the Valentine’s things, tell you about planning a princess themed party for our little girl and so on, but it was not to be. Of course, if we’re able to get the photos off of the old hard drive, I might just do all of those things. :)

So, how have you been? Did you have a lovely Valentine’s Day? Are you itching for Spring? Can you believe St. Patrick’s Day and Easter are just around the corner?

See you soon! Hopefully with all the regular types of posts, including pretty photos and shop updates :)

p.s. we now have ad space on the site! we currently are limiting it to people and companies that we’ve worked closely with, but are planning to open it to others that fit well with our aesthetic. feel free to let me know if you’re interested!

Friday shop update

Friday shop update

Yes, it’s Friday once again, which means it’s time for a shop update! My, how this week has flown by :)

first off, I have a couple of darling photo shoots to share with you:

the first one was a Valentine party styled by Birds & Honey and featured on On To Baby – Mona from Birds & Honey asked me to make up some pink and gold glittered things for it, and it was super cute. I loved making the custom cake toppers and things, and am actually thinking of adding versions of them to the shop – we’ll see!

the second was styled by Wilmarose Orlanes of Lovely Jubilee and, again, turned out really gorgeous! She used our vintage heart garland and confetti in the vintage valentine themed engagement shoot, and I love the images they captured.

the Path Less Traveled: Vintage Music Note Garland

next up – we’ve been working on getting some more of my favorite items from my Etsy shop listed here, as well. The most recent ones to be added are the Music Note Vintage Garland, the Sweet, Love, XO, and Baby cupcake toppers. I hope you love them as much as we have!

As you go about your shopping this President’s Day weekend {do you shop President’s Day sales? any good deals you’d like to share? :) }, I’ve created a coupon for you to use for FREE {don’t you love that word?!} shipping on any order over $2 from the shop – just enter the code “PRESIDENT” as you check out. :)

A darling set of 12 cupcake toppers, these “LOVE” heart cupcake toppers are made using hearts cut from vintage book pages and are double sided.

and lastly, the winner for the question/giveaway! Congratulations to Jill M. from the facebook comments! I loved reading all of your thoughts and ideas, and they’ll be really helpful as I’m planning and brainstorming what to do next. Thank you all so much for taking the time to give me your ideas! I’ll be having another giveaway soon, to stay tuned :)

I hope you all had a lovely Valentine’s Day, and have a wonderful President’s Day weekend!
