customer love – a winter wedding

This Customer Love post is especially fun for me – it features the wedding of an old friend! A while back I had the privilege of attending the winter wedding of a girl I have known forever, and she even let me help by contributing some of the decor. She was coming home from China to have her wedding in Colorado, and welcomed the snowflake items we were able to make for her!

You know how Boston has gotten a hundred feet of snow this year {or at least, it seems like it}? Central Indiana has only gotten about a inch at a time {which is not enough to play in if you’re a preschooler who has their heart set on making snow angels and snowmen}, and even that was pretty icy and not very fun to play in.snow time!

But last weekend we got SNOW. I know many of you are already going without jackets and sweaters {it is March 5th, after all}, but last night we got another round of ice and snow, and I’ve decided to try to really enjoy these last few weeks of winter { and yes, I know spring is almost here – our tulips keep trying to poke through the snow and St. Patrick’s Day is just around the corner :)}.DSC_0149 DSC_0150 DSC_0152 DSC_0153 DSC_0154 DSC_0155 DSC_0156

It’s beginning to look like Christmas

It’s beginning to look like Christmas

or at least, it did while I took these photos :)

One of the things our cookie cutter {but absolutely wonderful for us right} house does not have is a fireplace, and I miss having a fireplace. Not just on rainy days, snowy days, days when I really don’t want to get out of my jammies, but also on days when I really need to get some product photos for our shop taken. So, I came up with a solution – create a faux fireplace/cozy area!

creating a faux mantel in your home With all this coziness, you almost don’t notice that the actual fireplace isn’t there :)DSC_0040 DSC_0041For me, a cozy fireplace spot is made up of a great chair, complete with welcoming warm throw and cushy pillow, a spot for a warm drink, soft glowing light, and a mantlepiece {and, of course, a fireplace ….}.DSC_0019 Notice I was able to pull together all but the fireplace? The photos I needed were for some new Christmas products so I added in some garland, a tinsel tree and lots of candles. Candles have been my answer to not having a fireplace for years {here and here}! DSC_0020 I just love how the luminaries glow, and how the light reflects off of the gold shimmery banner!DSC_0021 DSC_0022 It was so fun to put this little area together, and as soon as I can get our Thanksgiving decorations put away, I’m going to put all of this back up. :)DSC_0027 And of course, having a bottle of wine to share with your love as you get cozy together is wonderful! {and with our new leather gift ties, they’re a pretty fun hostess gift, too!}DSC_0066 DSC_0033What do you think? Do you have a fireplace that you’d like to cozi-fy a bit? Or do you need to create a faux fireplace in your home, a place to get cozy and rest in the midst of the holiday hubbub {and winter chill}?

customer love – Winter ONEderland Birthday edition!

customer love – Winter ONEderland Birthday edition!

Do you remember the custom snowflake cake garland I posted the other day?custom snowflake topper {and an update!}It was part of a batch of things I put together for a darling “Winter ONEdarland” themed first birthday, and I was so excited to open the email full of photos that the mama sent after the party! Look at how darling it was!!! a darling Winter ONEderland Birthday drink table and party decor ideas | The Path Less Traveled MarketThe colors she used were pink, blush, cream, white, glitter gold and aqua. Jaclyn emailed asking if the Confetti Circles Garland‘s colors could be tweaked a tad (my answer – “of course!”), and from there we added some Large Snowflake Garlands, a few custom garlands that were a combination of the two others (love this idea! and when I get a free day or two I might add a version to the shop – they’re so sweet!)

Winter ONEderland Birthday party ideas! | The Path Less Traveled MarketFor the cake topper, Jaclyn had the idea of combining two of the Snowflake Dessert Toppers with a mini version of the Confetti Circles Garland and the result (again!) was absolutely gorgeous and had me wondering why I hadn’t added something like it to the shop already. Amazing job Jaclyn! I love everything about this! :)
