a little announcement

a little announcement

We’re moving (again)!

John has been transferred to Indianapolis and we are scheduled to be there this Thursday or Friday. It will be our fourth move in three years, and I’m still not sure how I feel about it.

There are times when I am excited, excited to see how God is working, excited to see what will happen in the next few years, where He will take us and the things that will happen along the way.

But there are times when I am scared, too. I want to be able to trust Him with everything, knowing that He is absolutely sovereign and is directing our days, but it scares me. I want to know where we will end up, where our next baby will be born and what city we will ultimately call home and when we’ll get there. I want to know when I can put down roots and have them be permanent.

But I don’t.
God does.

I want so badly to be able to trust Him with that, and trust Him gladly.

But for today I have a few tears.

  1. Oooh…I sympathize with your sorrow. It’s so sad to leave roots, especially when they hold such sweet memories. Praying for you. (I must admit that when I saw the title of your post, my mind first jumped to other things. ;) God bless you & your family as you follow Him to a new home!

  2. Lizzie, change is hard and we have to battle our flesh and trust God inorder to grow-it’s that way when a woman is 20ish and 60ish, it never changes and neither does our good God. Yes, indeed, He is soverign and His ways are higher than our ways, and He is also good and he shows his steadfast love to his children (Ps 59) Yesterday during our study of the book of Job in women’s study, we reviewed the awesome character of our God from Isaiah 40:10 and following. I was reminded not only of how He rules with his righteous arm, but with his arm, He tenderly carries the lambs as He shepherds us, his weak sheep. I will pray that you will know the tender sheperding of our king Jesus as you step out into all the newness of life. hmmm, a new opportunity to trust HIm!

  3. Dearest Lizzie,
As I was praying for you all this morning, I prayed that the Lord would be your comfort and peace in this move, and that He would make a place for you and John… Then, the verse popped into my head,
“In HIM we live, and move, and have our being.” Acts 17:28

Indeed, the place that He has already prepared for you to live is IN HIM! May this be your song of praise each and every day, no matter WHERE you are, no matter if you can’t find something because it is packed in a “category 2” box instead of a “category 1”, no matter WHAT!!

    IN HIM we live
IN HIM we move (you do move more than most so you can really claim that one!)
and IN HIM we have our being.

May this move IN HIM be one of peace and joy and hope. And may He give you new friendships in your new community. There is someone waiting to know you and be blessed by you! We love you all!!

  4. Thank you for your kind comment on my baby quilt!

Good luck with your move, and yes, God always has a plan, it’s just choosing to follow when he leads you! We, too, are looking at a move in the next year. This has been hard for us to decide, as I stay home, and my husband can work remotely, so the move is based solely on our desires! But we feel we are to move our kids closer to their grandparents, if this is the case, then hopefully our house will sell quickly when we list it!

Good luck to you with your move, I know how stressful they can be!
